Marian Anderson

Marian Anderson (1897–1993) was a celebrated American contralto whose remarkable career spanned four decades. She performed an extensive repertoire ranging from opera to spirituals and appeared with leading orchestras in major concert halls throughout the United States and Europe between 1925 and 1965. In recognition of her enduring cultural legacy, she was commemorated on a U.S. postage stamp issued in 2005.

Mr. Ernest Fisher
